Omar earned a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law.  Omar also earned the degrees of M.A. & B.A. in Philosophy from Columbia University in the City of New York. He is also a member of American MENSA.

Omar serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Civil Liberties Union - Nassau Chapter in Nassau County, New York.  In addition, Omar also volunteers as an attorney advisor for the Legal Counseling Project of the New York County Lawyers Association.
